We’re always eagerly awaiting Spring Break, for our now annual trip to Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado for skiing and family time. This year is even more exciting with Breckenridge opening new terrain on Peak 6.
Peak 6 is to include 543 acres of new terrain that will include 400 acres of lift-served terrain and 143 acres of hike-to terrain. The plan also includes adding a new high-speed, six-person chairlift and a new fixed-grip chairlift to access the Peak 6 area. To minimize environmental impacts, no lodging or restaurant facilities will be built on Peak 6. The only buildings you will see will be restrooms and a Ski Patrol hut.

With opening day just a few weeks away, we’re looking forward to hearing news and seeing photos and video of the new terrain!
To whet our appetite even more, we’re planning on heading over to the Windy City Ski and Snowboard Show, set to take place this weekend. We’re hoping to maybe find some inexpensive gear for the kids and some local areas to visit as warm-ups to the big trip.
