Another week, another Three Things Thursday – I like this for quick product reviews. Since it’s summer, travel is a constant, even if we’re just shooting over to Michigan for a day or two. These recent samples are 3 items I’ve used and can recommend.
Melitta Pour-Over Travel Mug: Pour-over coffee is all the rage these days, with hipsters across the world extolling its simplicity and greater control (over regular drip coffee). Melitta’s Pour-Over Travel Mug is lightweight and easy-to-use, makes a cup of coffee in just two easy steps. Add grounds to filter, pour on hot water, and you’re done! Cut-outs in the bottom of the cone allow you to see how much water has been used, so you can see exactly how much is in the mug – genius. It all washes easily and, if you’re using it at home, the cone can be washed in the dishwasher.
Wrangler Fort Worth Ripstop Cargo Shorts: I’ve been loving these shorts – the sturdy, tear-resistant ripstop fabric has plenty of pockets (some that can be secured). While the zippered option is great for making sure you don’t lose what’s important, my favorite was the tech/phone pocket, which held my phone securely but gave me quick access (important when I was juggling my phone, a camera, and a tasting glass at last weekend’s Beer Camp. 🙂
Water-Jel Unburn and BurnJelPlus: These are products you hope never to use, but it sure is great to have them when the time comes. Last week we spent an extended time on the lakefront and, unfortunately, Gaigai suffered a sunburn. Not a huge amount of pain, but enough, and itching that didn’t want to stop. We tried both of these products and, happily, they both worked. With ingredients like Vitamin E, Tea Tree Oil and 2.5% Lidocaine, they relieve pain fast while protecting against infection. I also tried it on my mosquito bites – the itch was soothed and I was much more comfortable. For camping and other outdoor activities, either of these are a must-have in your kit.
These products were provided for review purposes – all opinions are my own.
