As I sit here, it’s 46 degrees, with temps in the 60s expected this weekend. While I love the mild weather, it also means I’m delayed in playing with some new gear, mainly my Tubbs Snowshoes.
About a year ago, I met with Tubbs Snowshoes at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market and then actually snowshoed with their snowshoes during the #Hikerchat Outing immediately after. I fell in love with their performance as much as their design (have you seen the Boundary Peak? Beautiful retro flair.)
When I perused their website at home, I discovered that they had an Ambassador Program, including an option for families. I couldn’t wait for the application season to be open….a long wait as it wasn’t until Fall. I sent in my application, sat back, and waited.
Good news! Family Ambassador I was, now gear and swag were coming my way. And what an amazing pair of packages, one of fun goodies and the other six pairs of snowshoes. Now we needed snow to complete the picture.
Mother Nature is fickle, however – we’ve had one snowfall here, but it was wet and heavy, like a Slurpee flood. Not so good for snowshoeing. So snowshoeing will have to wait. On the positive side, I’m once again signed up for the #Hikerchat Outing post-ORShow, maybe they’ll have snow.
Moving forward you can expect some posts about our snowshoe adventures, some gear reviews, Instagram photos and, once a month, a post over at the Tubbs Snowshoes website. I, along with the other Ambassadors, have already posted twice over there, so be sure to head over there and get some snowshoeing inspiration.
