Even though winter has kept a tight grip on us here in the Midwest, there have been opportunities to wear running shorts – on the treadmill, under sweats, and for CrossFit. I’m a fan of Brooks Running shorts, since they are typically soft and comfy, run somewhat large (my preference), and come in a variety of inseam lengths – I prefer shorter inseams for the most part.
The Brooks Running Men’s Board Racer Short features a semi-fitted feel, a 6½” inseam (size medium), soft, four-way stretch fabric with Durable Water Resistant (DWR) coating, a wide, flat waistband with secure-fit elastic on back, a zip pocket sits below hip on the right side, and front/back retroreflectivity for visibility.
As with other Brooks Running shorts, the Board Racers had that incredibly soft comfort I’ve come to expect from this company. These shorts did run large compared to the other shorts I’ve tried from Brooks, so consider ordering a size down or trying on in a store before purchasing. While I received these in plain black, they do have some great plaid options that more closely mimic the look of board shorts.
