Costa has a great reputation among travelers and folks who love the water, and deservedly so. Their sunglasses are top-notch in performance, are quality built, and feel great while wearing them.
I recently received a sample pair of the Matte Black Teak framed Kiwa Sunglasses. They feature a blue mirror lens in polarized glass and are prescription ready if needed. These are substantial glasses, with great coverage and sized to fit larger, wider faces.
One of the things I love about the Costa website is that it’s possible to search for glasses according to the frame size. As someone with a wide face, I appreciate being able to zero in on frames that might fit me rather than ordering and hoping.
The Kiwa frames are named in honor of ocean guardians revered by New Zealand’s Maori tribes. More respect is shown to the environmental gods by the frames being made from a bio-based resin.
The frames have a rounded look (Costa calls them aviator style), which wraps around to keep sun, wind, and grit away from the eyes. Hydrolite nose and temple pads keep these sunglasses glued to your face under all but the most extreme circumstances.
There is nothing I like more than to be strolling along the water and handing a pair of Costa sunglasses to whoever I’m with. When they put the glasses on, they get the full effect of the quality lenses, changing the most severe gray water into vibrant hues of blues and greens. Magical.
If you’re in the market for sunglasses (and you should be, to protect and enhance your eyes while enjoying time outdoors), you can’t go wrong with Costa Sunglasses. With the sizing called out on their website, it’s easy to pick a style you’re sure will fit.
