Covet: Outdoor Retailer Show

Hard to believe it’s been almost a month since the OR Show. As I mentioned, it was almost overwhelming in terms of amazing products that I wanted to try out. That being said, I came up with a short list of my top covets. In no order of importance (they all rule), these are products that I would love to get my hands on:

Columbia Sportswear TurboDown

TurboDown by Columbia Sportswear: After hearing the raves from the Omniten, who got an early look at these, I knew that one day I’d have to acquire a piece from this line. Turbodown is a combination of 60g Omni-Heat® synthetic insulation and 800-fill goose down means 860 TD of ultimate lightweight warmth and heat retention, even when wet. Add in sleek design and these are total winners.

Tubbs Snowshoe Boundary Peak

Boundary Snowshoe from Tubbs Snowshoes: Named after Tubbs Snowshoes’ inaugural year, these have a retro look with very modern materials and design, love the way they look. I also love the way they perform, as I got to test them out during the #Hikerchat snowshoe outing after OR Show.

Barebones Living Safari Tent

Barebones Living Safari Tent: We do a lot of tent camping, and, with 6 of us, it’s nice to have space to move around and have all our gear protected. These go well beyond basic shelter, with an option to put in a wood-burning stove (though that’s not a requirement). We would be oh so happy in one of these.

L.L. Bean Influx Hybrid Jacket

L.L. Bean Influx Hybrid Jacket: Flat out one of the best outdoors jackets I’ve ever seen. Lightweight, windproof, water-resistant: waterproof and breathable material is placed in the upper arms and hood, with Polartec Alpha insulation. So want.

Bergans of Norway Tufto Pants

Bergans of Norway Tufto Pant: The Tufto Pants are designed for hiking, climbing and mountaineering. With a slightly militaristic look, the pants have panels additional flexibility is needed. These would be an ideal pant for Hell Hike and Raft.

Soto Outdoors Tabletop Dual Grill

Soto Outdoors Tabletop Dual Grill: The coolest camping grill I’ve ever seen – simple but incredible design from Soto Outdoors: 3 grill heights, top becomes pan, unused charcoal can be saved. A company I don’t know much about and can’t really afford, but it would so be worth the splurge.

Wants before needs, right?
