Today we’re looking at the Goal Zero Lighthouse 250 Lantern. Weighing just over a pound, shining up to 250 lumens, with a run time up to 48 hours, this lantern is all you need and easy to bring along on any outing. The light can give you either 180 or 360 degrees of light, which is a nice touch. It even has an emergency light function, though hopefully you’ll never need to use it.
The Lighthouse 250 has 3 ways to recharge:
- Connect a compatible solar panel like the Goal Zero Nomad 7;
- Plug the Lighthouse 250 into a USB power source before you head out with the integrated cord; or
- Use the hand crank – one minute of cranking gets you about 10 minutes of light on the low setting.
Set up the legs to raise the lantern off a wet table or snow, or use the handy dandy handle to hang it up for light over a table or in a tent.
With smartphones a primary safety device for most of us, this lantern’s charging capabilities are a nice feature, allowing you to keep a charge in your phone for emergency use.
