Hell Hike And Raft went well beyond my wildest expectations and expectations. It was harder, more fun, and more gratifying than promised. During the trip there were many highs, but also many lows – this pushed ALL the buttons.
Trying to describe this day by day, moment to moment, is just too overwhelming, so I thought I’d divide the trip into 2 or 3 posts: backpacking, rafting, and maybe a gear-specific post as well. I’ll use a broad brush approach for the overall experience, with specifics relating to gear as I go.
Even now it’s hard to believe we spent 6 days in the backcountry of Idaho. It was such a unique experience it really feels like a dream, though of course, it wasn’t.
Many thanks for making this an epic trip: Epic Social Adventures, America’s Rafting Company, Adam (Hiking the Trail), Scott (Hiking Forward), Jana and Thom (TauSpotting), Roxanne (Mountain Matron), Pablo (Where’s Pablo?), Jen (The Campsite), and Dean (Taiga Adventures). Looking forward to meeting up again and doing something epic or micro together.
