Midwest Basecamp – An Outdoors Podcast: Whither Art Thou?

If you recall, back at the beginning of the year I wrote about my plans for Midwest Basecamp – An Outdoors Podcast. However, as the poet Robert Burns once wrote: “The best laid schemes o’mice an’ men / Gang aft a-gley.” Right he was.

Big changes are afoot here at Midwest Basecamp World HQ, with an impending move that will put me closer to Lake Michigan (WAY closer, as in walk down the street closer, but unfortunately not lakeview closer due to the dunes between my new house and the beach).

The move will definitely benefit me from in many ways, with more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors life than I have ready access to now. Lake Michigan just a walk away, along with the Indiana Dunes a walk, a bike ride, and a car ride away (yes, the Dunes are LARGE).

The new Midwest Basecamp HQ lies just a quick walk away from this Lake Michigan beach

However, between finding a house, going through purchasing a house, packing up a house, and soon, moving to a new house, I’ve been remiss not only with the podcasting thing, but the blog in general Once the move is complete and I’ve settled in, that will all change.

And, while these pages and the airwaves lay fallow, I haven’t been totally just sitting on my ass. Getty Images has a music site where, for a modicum of money, one can get songs that are purchased for the owner’s use alone. I did just that for the podcast, but that’s a whole other post…

  1. Sounds like a great move, Kovas. As for the podcast, I’m still looking forward to it.

Remember that the only deadlines are the ones you create. 😉

  2. Went to the Dunes for the first time last year. Very cool! Seeing everyone with their dogs made me decide to get another after vowing not to go through the heartbreak again. That was a fateful trip!

    1. I think I’m going to stick with cats. Love dogs but I hate to leave them on trips.
