In the olden days, Mother’s Day gifts were easy: flowers, a box of chocolates, perhaps an iron or other household implement to make her job easier. Not so any longer. Now we have moms who run Ironman races, who have their own businesses, who don’t need you to get them gifts. The joys and pitfalls of the Independent Woman. 🙂
Happily, I’ve gotten some samples recently which make fine Mother’s Day gifts. Plenty of moms spend a lot of time outdoors, running or herding the kids, by the pool or lake, so a good pair of sunglasses is a must for eye protection. Guideline Eyegear has great sunglasses made for the mom on-the-go!
If you want to put a smile on mom’s face this year, go for the gold and get her a pair of Guideline Eyegear sunglasses. For the active mom that loves adventures and the great outdoors they recommended the Jack sunglasses (available at GuidelineEyegear.com). These polarized lenses are great for medium to bright sun conditions and are perfect for water sports like kayaking, boating or just hanging out at the beach.
The International Wine of the Month Club has several options: receive 2 reds, 2 whites, or 1 of each. If you like what you tasted, you can order more of your favorites while supplies of those wines last. Memberships make great gifts, as you can order from 2 to 12 months. You can also design your own club by combining shipments from their Wine, Beer, Cheese, Chocolate, Cigar, or Flower clubs. Their referral program gives a friend 50% off one month (with 3 months or more) and you also get 50% off a month. Nice.
Pretty much what every mother needs with warmer weather coming up is an insulated craft beer growler, to keep her favorite beer cold as she lazes by the beach or pool. I suppose in a pinch she could also use it for water, but…
