Kinetic Health Gear Supporting Human Motion

When I was approached about trying out a pair of Opedix KNEE-Tec Tights, I was pretty excited. Opedix is a maker of kinetic health gear. What is kinetic health gear? Think kinesio tape integrated into a garment that improves joint alignment and muscle function.

The Opedix KNEE-Tec Tight are meant to slow the onset of muscle fatigue, minimize stress on joints and comfortably guide natural athletic movement. They are perfect for running, skiing and any other athletic activity you might wear tights for.
“Our KNEE-Tec full tight incorporates patented Opedix Technology to promote dynamic alignment—improved mobility and stability—during training, rehab and everyday pursuits. By optimizing joint function, they allow you to do the things you love longer, better and with less pain and fatigue. 19-panel construction and a supple base fabric combine to create a comfortable fit for multiple body-types that optimizes the way you move for better overall performance.
  • Scientifically Designed and Tested to Reduce: Destructive Knee Forces, Quadricep Fatigue, Knee Pain
  • Improve: Dynamic Balance”

The tights are much softer than typical compression tights, with stiffer panels where the kinesio tape style panels are sewn in. A wide waistband with a drawstring allows for adjustability and keeps the tights up while moving. The tights definitely have a different feel to them – the support around the knee area is very pronounced and gives a feeling of confidence in the product.

Several runs later (haven’t had a chance to ski in them yet, but I will), and I can definitely say these are like no other sports tights I’ve ever tried. As I mentioned, the feel is completely different from other tights, the support is definitely there, and overall, they feel like they are doing what they are supposed to do, which is protect my knees when running. I can’t wait to take them out on the slopes and try them out skiing – any outdoor activity this winter, you can be sure I’ll be putting these on as the base layer.

If you’re looking for new running tights or a baselayer for winter sports beyond the typical long underwear, these KNEE-Tec Tights should be on your radar. You can try Opedix products risk free for 30 days. If you are not satisfied, return them for a refund.
